I have Mackie Blackbird interface and a Presonus Digimax interface that I used with sonar 6 on a laptop (mobile recording). I have since upgraded so Sonar 8.5, cuz the laptop is Windows Vista, I got Sonar 8.5 with a Roland keyboard I purchased a while ago. I have installed the drivers for the Blackbird and Sonar sees the ASIO driver 1-8, and also sees the ADAT drivers 9-16, however Sonar will not let me select 9-16 (ADAT 9-16),in the audio preferences in order to assign them as the input to a track. I downloaded Reaper to see if it was a driver issue or a sonar issue and reaper sees them and let me select them just fine. I tested it and recorded several tracks with reaper using the ADAT 9-16 channels and it worked good. Sonar does record using tracks 1-8, again, it won't even let me select 9-16 (the ADAT tracks).  So here is my questions:

Anyone have any suggestions?

Will Sonar x2 work in Vista? I know it is not officially supported. I really would like to stay in the Sonar family, but I can't upgrade the laptop to windows 7.

Sonar sees the drivers, they are displayed in the list, I click the checkbox for all and click apply and ...nothin!!! I am at a loss.

couldn't figure out the issues and Sonar 8.5 isn't support anymore. Since I am just using the laptop as a fancy taped deck to do mobile tracking, I purchased Reaper. I can import into X2 to mix. I really wish I could get my hands on a legit licensed copy of a version of sonar that was compatible with Windows Vista.  Any ideas?

Seems like an unfortunate way to solve your problems. Did you narrow down why things didn't work ?

no, sonar 8.5 LE is not supported anymore and I doub't many folks use it. I reloaded a couple of times, did all the normal things, windows update etc.  Sonar sees the drivers, just won't use them. Reaper uses them just fine. I posted and no responses, so I am just moving on.  I am suprised that Sonar does not currently offer any products that are compatible with Windows Vista. Or at least I am not aware of any.
