If it is USB, make sure the system fully boots up prior to starting the fast track. Then open sonar last.

Really the best thing is to make sure you have the latest drivers for the FT.

===== COMPUTER ======
Dell Studio XPS Intel I5 6 GIG Ram
Windows 7 64 Bit

===== M-Audio Fast Track Ultra =====
Sample Rate : 44.1
ASIO/WDM Buffer Size : 256
Firmware 1.51
Driver Version : Don't remember but I know it's the very latest one they have

Again, this thing crashes my computer even when not recording... I can go to bed at night, if I leave this on, I WILL have a blue screen in the morning.  In fact, I had it turned on for about 10 minutes and it just crashed my computer.

The support for this product seems to be in a sad state of affairs due to the situation between m-audio and avid.

Yes, i have the latest, and i have booted up many times with it turned off.  Just like nightfall, it's inevitable that it will crash my computer.

Hey Robert, I can post that stuff, but I should have made one thing clear. My issue with my m-audio fast track ultra has NOTHING to do with Sonar.  It did this with Reaper as well.  Heck, I don't even need to have a DAW open... Just have the unit turned on and it WILL eventually crash my computer.

Welcome to the forum. Perhaps you may want to try uninstalling the driver and using a different USB port. Also because we don't know do you have USB 3 ports? If so be sure not to use them for your FT.

To my knowledge they are all USB2... I have uninstalled and re-installed the drivers.   I really think it's a Win7 64 bit thing. I don't recall this happening on Win7 32.
