Why does the snap tool change from whatever I set it to? I can set it to 1/8 and later it is set to something else. Sometimes even as much as 1/1. Thanks.

That's the new Smart Grid feature. It automatically adjusts your snap resolution according to your zoom level. Right-click the snap resolution in the Snap module of the Control Bar and choose Smart Grid from the menu to toggle the feature on/off.
