I have just put X2a Producer on my new computer but have found that when I load any soft synth DimPro 1.5 for example Sonar will hang for up to 4-5 seconds and says processing track.
 
If I load a soft synth while a track is playing I have the same hang but also causes what sounds like latency pops / static.
 
I uninstalled everything reinstalled only X2 ( no X2a patch )
 
With Just X2 I dont have this problem but as soon as I install X2a on the system it starts hanging when I load the soft synths.
 
Dpc latency is not the issue as I have readings of 4us-6us average and Max 10us
 
Changing the asio buffer makes no difference and changing the read and write buffer makes no difference.
 
Any help would be much appreciated

I'm having similar situation, I'm running latest X2a, never revert back to older version, so I can't tell if it's related to X2/X2a. 

But around the same time, I've added a slower USB backup drive and experiment with installing sound patches into this drive. Now every time I start Sonar, I've got the few seconds delay - except if I'm starting a new/empty project where it loads instantly.

I think it is intended behavior.

I also noticed I can add a synth on the fly while a project is playing now ... I don't recall being able to do that in the past. I think the 'Processing Track' message has something to do with that.

This is a hang on any synth on new projects and old only in X2a when I try and load them if a track is playing or not :(

Support have taken a system info file and are looking into what is causeing the issue as they have said they have never seen this before and cant recreate it at there end.

Once I know more I will let you know whats causing it

Well, I've just been living with it because I assumed it was buffering or something in the background so the audio engine wouldn't drop out. If tech support is saying this is not how it is supposed to work, then that's a problem I guess. It's only a few seconds, and is annoying, but it's not a showstopper by any means. Although ... I've seen a few complaints about it and one member said Sonar locks up completely and he can't add a synth any more.


My specs btw: X2a Producer x64 only, i5 750 Quad Core (Not O.C.'d), 4GB RAM (Not-O.C.'d), M-Audio Fast Track Ultra, 2-7200RPM HDD's, GeForce 9500 Vid, Samsung PX2370 Monitor.


Did you ask Tech Support what they are running it on, I'd love to get my hands on one of those DAW's that they can never seem to get Sonar to malfunction on.

My Specs are in my sig.
 
Yeah ive been able to throw Synths in on play back on the fly for a long time with no issues on my old i7 930 rig using 8.5.3 then X1 then X2 ( never put X2a on it )
 
With this rig all is fine untill I put X2a on it.
 
X2 was so unstable on my last system with crashes that I dont want to run it with out the X2a patch but with it hanging the way it is is not going to be good for my work flow when I am so use to it being instant with no hang.
 
I have no idea what support used to test but there is too many variables for them to be able to test every type of set up or so I would think.
 
A few of my friends have X2a and they dont see this hang.
 
They thought it might have been a driver issue when I spoke with them on the phone but its doing the same even if I take the VS-700 out the equation. ( dont turn it on and boot X2a )
 
I really hope they can sort this out quick.
