Another problem I've noticed...and perhaps this is related to my misunderstanding of how the plug works...it will not allow me to set delay times accurately in milliseconds. For example, if I type in a delay of 150ms, it changes when I hit enter. To 143 if I have sync set to auto, 152 if I have sync set to manual.
I thought this was maybe because it was snapping to some grid, but if I have "snap" turned off and the grid set to "free," the behavior persists. I then found that if I double the BPM of the plug, I can get closer to the ms value I want, but still slightly out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a delay plug should just let you set the exact ms delay you want without any messing around.
Absolutely...
Is this working ok in Pro Tools and Reaper?
If so, then again, I would suspect something "under the hood" in X2a...
Entering delay ms is still a problem in Reaper and Pro Tools. It will always round your figure to some mythical snap grid even when you have snap off, grid set to "free" and grid mode set to "ms." Doesn't matter if you have tempo set to auto or manual, or mode set to tempo or pattern. I've tried all settings. What I did find, however, is that the higher the tempo you have set, the better "resolution" you'll get when it comes to setting ms delays. If you put it all the way up to, say, 1200BPM then you'll largely get the ms delay that you want, except that sometimes it will change it by 1ms. So for instance at that speed, if I set the delay at 125 it'll give me 124. If I slow the tempo down to 50BPM, entering 125 will give me 134.
I'm beginning to think this plugin is just junk, lol. I mean come on, I know Waves aren't exactly the Rolls Royce of plugs but they are a very reputable plug company. I just can't see any logical justification for screwing with the ms values like this when you have everything set to "manual" and "free."
