This question is for the older guys.  Way back in early versions of Sonar there was a"Session Drummer".  It was different than what we have now.  Anyway a company called Drumtrax provided expansion content packs for use with this Session Drummer.  I still have those on my computer and they sound pretty good.  I was wondering if they can be drug into Sonar X1 and used now.  When I click on one of the MIDI loops then properties it tells me that the type of file is MIDI Sequence.  I can hear them using Windows Media Player.  How might I get them to work in X1?  What program should I use to play/hear them?  Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mack

You might need to convert them, but to WHAT I am not sure...just a shot in the dark, but I am sure someone else will chime in with an answer...

i know exactly what your refering too,i also had pro audio 9 with the original session drummer(no drum kit gui)  :)

how are you dragging the midi clips in to sonar?
have you tried using the browser to navigate to these midi clips ?
and in windows when you right click on these fils what does properties tell you about these midi clips?

i was under the impression these were typical midi clips.

IIRC, you can import them into SONAR. SD would parse the files into smaller loops so that you could construct a drum track. In order to use the data now, you will need to manually chop the files up into loops.

After further investigation, I find that I can insert the SI Drum Kit and then drag and drop the MIDI file from Drumtrax into Sonar from the Browser.  The MIDI track is a series of drum patterns/loops.  I can them cut, copy, paste to my desire.  At least this works.  Anyone have other ideas?  What other programs inside of Sonar will play drum MIDI loops?
Thanks,
Mack

TTS-1, Session Drummer 3 and SI-Drum Kit all play GM drums. DimPro has drum patches but I am not sure if they are GM.

Thanks for the information Scook.  I will try all the programs you mentioned.  I did finally get things working with Session Drummer.

I see Drumtrax still has a web page. You might see if they will let you have the regular GM loops for the SD package you bought. It could save you a lot of time.
