I was just browsing the forum, and there really seems to be a lot of negativity regarding X2 & X2a. I just want to throw out there that I recently built a new 64bit desktop computer based on Window 7 & Sonar X2a, and I have not enjoyed this kind of stability since 8.5.3. Since I installed X2, I've not had a single crash. In fact, the only problem I've had is an issue with a 32 bit reverb plugin. Even that didn't cause a crash, just a bunch of noise. X1 was a complete disaster for me. A total waste of time and money. It never was solid for me. So trying X2 was a pretty big gamble for me. So I want to throw out some positivity to Cake. I'm a happy customer!

As a trial user, I'm happy with it as well, so much so I ordered X2 Producer a few days ago. Arrives tomorrow!

Use it some more...

Is that really neccessary?

some people, like myself included share this feeling.
if you dont, then im sure you could state your issues on this thread or maybe another thread.
but in a constructive way would be nice.

how would you like it if you started a thread with some issues you were having and someone replied, learn how to use your sonar.
how would that be?

because thats pretty much what your saying here. "use it some more" as if he isnt using it properly or enough?

you see the negetivity he is talking about in his post, are people like you.
when someone is trying to share a positive experience.someone unhappy feels as if everone else needs to be as miserable as them.

sharing concern is one thing, because i can agree with concerns,flaming...thats another story.

For me it was the opposit. 8.53 and X1 was very stable for me. X2 has taken me to hell and back but i was persistant to try to get it working. 4 pc re-images, installs 32bit install 64bit, uninstall, new video card, firewire card you name it. After the last reimage I installed X2 with no update patches and it ran good. I was even afraid to install MS updates because they have caused problems with X2. I was afraid to update to X2a anagin but I took the chance and so far so good. The only issues I've had so far were caused by plugins.  So I hope it keeps working ok. The one that won't work though and I tried everything are my Anyares plugins. The crash the bitbridge and Jbridge so I'm at a halt with those plugins.

I'm glad it's working good for you. There are many who are not having any issues. I'm not a power user either so I'm not using some of the more complicated features that many use so I'm not pushing Sonar to any limits.

Good luck.

I like X2, but it has some problems. I'm sure they will get around to fixing it and I'm not planning on changing daws.

this is a good post, its very honest and telling.
i havent shared exact issues but i can totaly agree on the plug in thing.
i to had a few white outs due to some plug ins that were 32 bit using a 64 bit system.
im pretty much all 64 bit plug ins so i dont have those same problems anymore.
the 32 bit plug ins i do still use are stable with x2 though.

but generaly speaking im very happy like the op.

+1

If what you've gotten in to so far has worked, that's great! I'm enjoying everything that does work so far as well.

Where it get's frustrating is when you run in to things that should work but don't, and never get fixed. Bugs happen, but it's the repeated ones that follow from version to version that gets people upset. Then that exasperates the problem of new ones, and it snow balls, and the wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round ...

Personally speaking that is, if you don't mind me saying so.

Thanks for posting a positive thread.

I, too, have found X2a stable.  I had a bit of a wobble with the original release, but the quickfix sorted out any issues.

X1d was also very stable for me, but I really enjoy the enhancements in X2.

me too.

After the groove 3 videos I have started using a lot of things I have never used before in Sonar and still no issues.
