Clean Windows 8 install. No 32 bit plugins. X2a. Many hours of use. No problems.
Touch is awesome. I'm loving X2

Pretty stable here. I've had a couple full crashes but they are very rare (I've been running X2 since last fall). I get the occasional engine stops sometimes for seemingly no reason but I think that's my audio drive being weird for the most part. There are just quite a few bugs and broken features but they don't really stop me from getting things done.

Cheers.

Clean install of windows, latest drivers and firmware. No other non daw related software. Maybe 5 tweaks or so, stable as a rock. Although I had my second ever crash today. The lesson is don't do a save with dimension pro softsynth open. In fact I'm always gonna keep softsynths closed from now on when I save. Yuk.

Maybe you had one of the booby trapped Dim Pro patches loaded. Wish there was a list of those somewhere.

If what you've gotten in to so far has worked, that's great! I'm enjoying everything that does work so far as well. Where it get's frustrating is when you run in to things that should work but don't, and never get fixed. Bugs happen, but it's the repeated ones that follow from version to version that gets people upset. Then that exasperates the problem of new ones, and it snow balls, and the wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round ... Personally speaking that is, if you don't mind me saying so.

The OP did refer to crashes and general stability.   And personally, I'm in the same boat in that X2 just works well for me.   Recording MIDI and audio, editing, mixing, Pro Channel, etc, etc.   A few minor quirks here and there?   Sure.   And yet I still feel pretty much like the OP after months of using X2.  Call me lucky, but it is what it is.

If the OP is going to come across issues at some point then they'll have every opportunity to make that known.  May as well let them enjoy the experience they're having right now.   If you don't mind me saying so.

X2a working good for me here, too.  I've had a couple of crashes that I tracked down to old plugins from previous projects.  I've experienced a few of the glitches mentioned in other threads but nothing that would make me stop using it.  I even opened a project up 8.5 a while ago just to be sure it would open to look at my track list and it was weird, I really like the X2 look and feel now.  Took a bit of getting used to but I'm on board with it now.

Very stable here, I'd say as stable, if not more than X1d is/was.

Note that I'm using the "studio" edition, and I'm fully aware that most major "improvements" from X1 to X2 are things that are not included in the studio edition (prochannel, etc....) so that may explain why it very robust,

I have this issue with NUDGE (opened a thread about it, and contacted support, no answer yet), I have this issue on 1 system (my other system runs fine)...

I just finished a 6min cue to picture, about 20 softsynths, crazy automation and stuff... on X2A 32 bit ... never failed on me,
once I got over the new ways of X2, I "forgot" about the machine... X2 runs smooth, I completely trust it. (unless I nudge clips!)

Like I said in a previous thread, Studio edition lacks the initial value it had, it feels a little left out, for the price the upgrade costs,

but in NO way I can relate to the problems and overall bad reception people have expressed on this forum.

I wonder if there is anything to do with the fact that the upgrades are now downloadable, and more prone to some data corruption...
Cake should add (or improve if it's already there) a validation system on downloaded files. Maybe that would sort some issues.. Just sayin'

Cheers !

I have a lot of complaints about X2, some more serious than others, but boy is this program WAY more stable than Pro Tools ever was for me. Despite it's shortcomings I'm sticking with it because I believe it has the potential to be the best DAW available with some TLC from the bakers. We will see what happens over the next 6 months or so.

yeah same here. 5 months of use and testing including setting up pure data programs to send vast amounts of midi data on multiple channels at the same time into sonar.  i had a big crash a couple of weeks ago - first time i rememer, and i got x2 the day it was released.  pretty happy!

yeah sharke i agree.  maybe 3-5 years down the road if cake keeps innovating and not stagnating like the other daw mfrs it is going to be way way ahead of the pack.
