The "Feel Good" thread of the year.

So... How about that crazy weather?

@pbognar - just seen your avatar and love it.

JX-3P was the first synth I owned, and still have it in my studio today.  I didn't have a PG200 to start off with, but still enjoyed step programming it.

Oh, and whilst I'm here, X2a still rock solid here.

@op, thank you for attempting a positive thread.

Juno 60 was the first synth, traded it in for the Juno 106 because the 106 had MIDI. For some reason the 106 didn't sound the same...subtle differences.

I used to love those old Roland synths.  I started out playing the Juno 6, Juno 60, Jupiter 8 and JX-3P.  The VCFs were great.  And they were     made of metal and wood.

I remember in my youth, as a drummer, turning up to rehearsal where the band had a Juno 6, and because they knew I also played keyboards, they asked me to program a piano sound..  errr..

I saw it and it brought back great memories.  Let see if I can get this right...  The JX-3P / PG-200 was my first programmable, polyphonic, dual oscillator synth with knobs and MIDI.  I only used MIDI much later when I got my first software sequencer (Texture).

But with the JX-3P / PG-200, I could sync it up to the Roland TR-606 drum machine, and have a polyphonic sequence going on at the same time.  The coolest thing about this for me at the time was being able to program a patch while it was playing a sequence - waaay coooool....

+1.   To me, and for lack of a better way to describe it, the Juno 106 was just slightly more "digital/thin" sounding than the Juno 60.   I haven't played or heard either one in a few decades, but for some reason that did stick with me.

Hi Guys,

I have edited some rude posts in this thread after getting a few reports. Some of the posts were edited simply because they contained quotes.

The content of the posts isn't really important. Please stop abusing one another with profanity and rudeness and sarcasm. This goes for everyone participating in such behavior (and there are multiple people).

Also, please do not drag Cakewalk/Roland into your personal quarrels. Nobody at Cakewalk is reading this bickering and picking favorites. This is simply not the case. The only reason it even hit my radar is because people reported several posts in this thread. Try not to take it personal.

I know we all get heated sometimes and we're all passionate, let's just try to keep it clean and professional.

I'm ok that my posts were edited.

I only wish that it hadn't taken you several days to act upon the reports of abuse.

It would be nice if when it happens someone would step in sooner, or a reply at least (non-automated).

I see admin here often, several times since I reported abuse in this thread. Not sure why they can't do this instead of you having to come in ... or maybe they don't get a message when there is a report of abuse?

Just some random thoughts. Like I said, I'm ok. I forgot all about this until I saw it pop up to the top of the forum to be honest. It's kind of like when the wife is mad at you for something you did on Monday that she yells at you for on Saturday. You're like WTH? Oh yeah, now I remember doing that.

The honest truth of it is that the forum abuse reports come into a system that I personally don't look at on weekends. I work a second job on weekends, and so I never read any of this until today. I do my best to check into the state of things (forums and other Cakewalk related stuff) when not on the clock, but sometimes you just can't.

We're working on some ideas to make things more self-automating though. It shouldn't take myself or other Cakewalk staff having to interact to know when and where things should be removed. In the meantime though, it unfortunately requires human intervention.
