Well, if you're really feeling dedicated to the cause:

I'd suggest you keep working with the format you used in the drum programming tutorial ~
Take a single project, one feature or track at a time, and demonstrate how to turn it into a complete song.

Perhaps demo features such as automation, audio/clip editing, basic mixing techniques, etc.

That should be enough to keep the trainer & trainees occupied for a while...  :)
(You can never have too many tutorials!!)

Nice tutorial Charlie!

This brings me back full circle, how do I get a EzDrummer to play nice with the midi coming from my boss dr-880. I don't have a drum map. EzDrummer does not have a drum map, I asked, they replied.

I think for the most part EZdrummer conforms to the general midi standard but not totally but of course your DR-880 probably doesn't so you might have to make one manually
which takes a while but is quite easy to do. There are some tutorials and step by step guides someone posted on here a year or two ago but not sure who.
You could try a forum search but the search on here isn't good so a google search might be better unless someone else here can tell you where it is ?

Another quantitising tip. If you have constructed a rather mechanical pattern in step sequencer you can quantatise it to a groove using the groove quantatise function. There are some presets, but it will also quantatise to what you have on the clipboard, so you can steal the groove fron one of the stock patterns and apply it to your own.

tell you what rush man.
give me a week or so,ive already started one for midi triggering using drum machines.
so this will apply to you.

Twaddle is right though,i not sure off the top of my head but im pretty sure he is correct in saying your going to
have to make a drum map for your machine.
(dont worry this is included in the vid)

Thank You Chuck

Were I at that stage of learning I would have really appreciated your video, very useful and easy to follow, good stuff.

Has anyone ever compared you to an Afghan Hound ?
I just thought when I saw you, put a pair of shades on this guy Afghan Hound and he could be your stand in
Hope you're not offended
