Dude Ivey
I'e read post about people removing things off of their registry so i got to looking around on mine and theres all kinds of stuff that i dont use any more. Like demos that i didnt buy and also X-1. Do u just right click on the folder and delete them? If i delete X-1 does that effect X-2 in any way? I dont know anything about the registry and i dont wanna mess anything up, especially X-2!

The best way to clean up the registry is by using a tool like CCleaner. Follow the directions, making sure to allow the tool to make proper backups, just in case.

Unless you really know what you're doing, don't mess with the registry. You could screw up your Windows installation so bad you won't be able to fix it. Use CCleaner as scook said.

im with cook on this one as well.
Ccleaner is strong but not so strong where it will delete important reg files you need and even if that were the case,Ccleaner has a back up reg cleaner option so if you do delete something that is needed you can revert it back to normal using the back up.

i will suggest one thing right now though.
PLEASE , Heed my warning,DO NOT DELETE anything in the registry unless you know exactly what you are doing.

it one of the most sensitive parts of your computer where if you delete something you could possibly leave your computer in an un-operetive state.

in simpler terms, messing with the registry can leave your computer useless.
turn it into an over sized paper weight.

i would use Ccleaner like mr cook says.
it does the job very well and its a free download

have you heard of it?
download it here:

its a free download

Step number one, before you proceed any further: learn how to back up your registry.

I like to keep my registry tidy. But unless you spend a lot of time wandering about in there (which I do), there really aren't many compelling reasons to clean it out. Having extra crap in there isn't going to slow your computer down or eat up disk space, at least not to any significant degree. Ask yourself if the benefits outweigh the risks.

@ Chuckybaby. If one does make a mistake with the registry and Windows will not start, does not make the puter a paperwieght. Safemode may still work and if one has backed up the registry, they can fix it then. If not, one would just have the tedious task of re-installing the OS and everything else.

On a good note, go with Bit's advice. Don't worry about it. You buying trouble and who needs that?

Totally agree with the above. You could easily make your system unbootable if you aren't extremely careful
