Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know if the output from a Sound Canvas SC55 can be recorded directly into X1 Essential? Basicaly i am trying to capture the Midi sounds (from playback) and record them into an Audio track in X1. Is it possible or do I need some sort of interface between the SC55 and Sonar? If, what do you reccomend?
Thanks

Howard.

Connect the ouput of the SoundCanvas to the input of your soundcard or usb device. Setup X1 to use that device then place that input on the audio track to record then record. If you use ASIO drivers you can name that input in your preferences dialog under the devices heading.

Hope that helps.

Edit: you will need an external sound device if you computer or laptop does not have an audio input usaully an 1/8 inch stereo jack which will have to be adapted for the output of the SoundCanvas. There are scads of USB interfaces of which just about any would fit your needs.

Hi again,
I have tried your suggestion but I cannot get the input recognised in Sonar.

Is it setup for WDM Drivers or Wasapi in your preferences dialog under "Playback and Recording" driver mode?

If so then setup the input to "what you hear" or the exterior input which should be shown in the windows mixer under WINDOWS control panel/sound devices/ properties menu.
