in defence of cakewalk, i think they are quite proud of their wee la 2a emulator and want to share it with tha world, i think the reason rack extension nipped that in the bud, would like to see a revamp of the pc 76 and 4 k compressors in this mold

I keep trying to buy it but it says error in the checkout. I can't manager it. If I can't navigate the website, maybe I'm not worthy of the plug?

I am getting the same error 12 hours later!.

The Cakewalk Store is not accepting Credit Cards at the moment, when will it be fixed.

The decision is: is side chain + usable in non-Sonar apps worth $20 (assuming upgrade).

I like this plug, so I'm thinking: probably

Why did they give this a new name??  OK, they did say it was an "upgrade", but why change the name? It made me think I was getting something completely revamped.  I mean, how hard is it to take software and throw a VST shell around it and add sidechaining?  I have to say I feel a little duped.  Not majorly, but just a little.

I have read some people on this forum say this when ever CW offers anything.  Either those people have unrealistic expectations or they are not rational. If you are a grown person and have control of your funds and can make a decision plus read, I find this sort of complaint ridiculous. If CW offered something that wont work or never was delivered than you have a complaint. Otherwise if you read the specs on it and understood what you read how on this planet can you "feel" duped?

Your only argument is they changed the name. My goodness how awful!  They added features and now let it be used in other DAWs but for some reason that isn't enough. What else were you looking for?

+1

It feels like some people just look for things to complain about and nothing else..

If you downloaded the program with internet explorer you will have to rename the download. If your download was "Cakewalk %20Limiter%20" just right click and rename the download and add .exe extention to the name. After you add the .exe extention ,You will see the white paper icon change to the cl-2a red logo and you can install it now.

I actually feel a little "taken" by CW's marketing strategy at the moment.

In December they give away a $20- voucher, with very little on offer in the store. A week or two after expiry, they release a plugin for - tadaaa - $20.

Guys, if you are going to "give" your users a voucher, why let it expire? I know many of the guys on this forum will disagree, or be "oh well, that's business", but I get the idea CW's marketing team do this stuff on purpose, with a s**** and a chuckle.

Is it just me who feels this way?

Bargain upgrade price in IMHO, so got it, yet to try it but the original is great so a bit more functionality for 16 quid is good for me.
