Just how big of a market do you think there is for a large (read expensive) controller console just for SONAR users?

The VS700 was a great integration of hardware and SONAR.  You could probably find a cheap one now.  Which should tell you all you need to know about the possibilty of an even more expensive console.  Everybody would want one, few would pay the $5000-10,000+ to have one.

Your behringer fader boards (ie: "poor man's Icon")  look fantastic. I have watched your posting on it for a year or so and have considered pulling the trigger on those many times. I eventually ended up getting 3 korg nano kontrollers that function close to the brf2000's. Now if I  can just find a rotary controller for the knobs. I may get the behringers for that, but I'd really like to get something that match the korgs better.

I'd love one for SONAR too, but I would be in fear that after a couple of years support would slow and trickle off for it.

Here are two links for the same surface.  The first is from Sweetwater's just for the price and such.  The second link is the product info page from the manufacturer.

I intend to pick one of these up.

Hi,
I had some scepticism if touchscreen is the possible future for DAW's, but after watching the videos and reading comments from people working with a touchscreen as a DAW-controller, it seems for me it could be really the future. And it's just a cheaper solution too, than building a DAW-Controller with faders and potis. Of course, we can't go without a mouse or keyboard yet (maybe in the distant future), but it could be certainly a real replacement for a physical DAW-Controller. And it's the same with everyting, someone like it more than others and you have to adapt to it as with other new things.
I think the market for hardware-controllers is getting smaller. So I´m very curious about the future of touchscreens for DAW's and if the development is in a good way, I'm going to purchase one in the near future. So I think Cakewalk is going in the right way.

You are not the only one thinking and checking out touchscreen...
