I got one here that is stumping me. This seems to happen randomly. Tonight I was recording a 4 part harmony using 1 track. I recorded harmony 1 I added a take lane and recorded harmony 2 while listening to 1 I added a take lane and listened to 1 & 2 and recorded harmony 3 I added a take lane and while recording harmony 4- 1 through 3 no longer played back. They weren't muted. If I just played back they all played but I couldn't listen to 1,2,& 3 while recording 4. What's up???

Nothing's up except that X2 was not ready for Win 7 systems.  I've found similar weird bugs with take lanes.  Please send a bug report to Cakewalk!!

Until they sort the bugs out in Take lanes, I'm recording all my separate takes in different tracks.

You can force Sonar to do this automatically if you're loop recording by enabling the "Store Takes In Separate Tracks" option

Yes, this happens to me also. VERY FRUSTRATING. You have exactly described the behavior I see.
I brought this up earlier in this thread.

I still think it is a bug, and I haven't figured out how to make it work the way I expect.

I've had kind of the opposite happen and it was dependent on a couple seemingly unrelated settings. If I used the Take Lane mute buttons to mute previous takes and used the R key on my keyboard to trigger recording at least one previous take would playback. If I manually muted the clips in the takes... it didn't happen. If I used the Transport Module to start recording... it didn't happen.

Kind of a perfect storm for that bug and it isn't consistent. I just select the clips and mute them instead of using the Take Lane mute. In fact all of those take lane MSR buttons are buggy as all heck.

We need a patch... especially for us Win7 users.
