Had a weird issue last night when opening/starting a New session (Normal session). The windows were frozen, and I could not switch screensets. I had to add at least one track before I could do anything with the window panes or switch screensets. Cascading, Tiling, etc. had no effect, either. Not sure if this is expected behavior for a new session, because I've been using templates most, if not all the time. This was not a probelm in X1, because in a "Normal" session, it pre-loaded the session with tracks. 

Just thought I'd put this one out there, because I still routinely hit some issue with X2 nearly every week. 

Windows 7, 64-Bit (patched/updated), 8 gigs RAM, 1TB HD (WD), MOTU PCIe4 w/modded 24i/o Core, ASUS (nVIDIA) 9600 Vid card. 30" Dell monitor. X2a

Sorry if I'm being dim, but why would you need to do any of these before inserting a track?
 
Also, what do you mean by "the windows are frozen"?

I am pretty sure that if you open a new project with the default normal template all the screensets are greyed out until you add something in the first screen. At least, that is how X2 has always worked for me. From my experience, it sounds normal.

Yes.  Everything here seems to work, that I would expect to work with no tracks present.
 
I can resize windows, open/close browser, Inspector, multidock.  I can enter full screen mode, cascade, tile etc.  That's why I wanted to know what the OP meant by windows are "frozen".
