Great thread! Bookmarked! I think it should be moved to the Techniques subforum, though.

I thought about that but it said the coffee house was for music related issues and the techniques forum was for recording issues

Another classic fingering exercise is the tricky change from the maj7 to 6th chords that's on the first page of Mickey Baker's Complete Course In Jazz Guitar. I'm sure anyone who has the book knows what I mean lol!

I was thinking of the Techniques forum as recording and using Sonar
There's a Techniques subforum? I don't see a subforum anywhere
if not, that's a great idea

Hi,

Wow ... I gotta use 4 fingers on a bass?

I notice right hand technique for bass is very close to classical and the exercises are the same. A lot of bass players do the same right hand arp exercises as I do(did). Very cool AND they had 4 fingers on EACH hand too!

Ok OK ... I printed this out and plan on taking a shot at it. I go so much by the sound of it all, and sometimes I don't even know what/which note it is at all, but I always am able to add a contrast to the moment or two here and there.

Might as well learn the scales ... someday!
