Is anyone else experiencing R-Mix Sonar having a blank centre when your projects get to about 4Gb.

You start a project and early on add R-Mix Sonar which behaves normally. Later on when your project has grown (with instrument and effects plugins) to around 4Gb of memory. You find that R-Mix Sonar is displayed with a blank centre where the graphic display should be.

I have encountered this problem with another plugin EAReverb by Eareckon in Sonar X1 last year. When Sonar memory use increased, EaReverb was displayed as an image that was not refreshed correctly. Some controls not responding and some graphics missing. Exactly whats happening to R-Mix. This was solved by a software update to EARverb.

I have reported this to Cakewalk support.

Is anyone else experiencing this or other graphics problems with Sonar X2a?.

aries, is this with Sonar x64 or the 32 bit version? I've not seen any weirdness on my end, but I'll look for it now that you've brought it up.

R-Mix isn't something I use often, but the times I have used it...I've brought it into large projects just messing with it and can't recall anything out of the ordinary. I'll check it out though and post back if I see anything. It's good you reported it as that's the best way to handle it. Even if they don't fix it right away (if it's a bug) at least they've logged it.

That doesn't surprise me aries....I get all sorts of weird stuff with x64 that NEVER happens in Sonar 32. Here's a prime example...the whole driver page just disappeared on me one day.

My RAM usage was 3.6Gb and my Sonar CPU meter was about 80 to 90% on the 4 indicators, when the grayed out centre of R-Mix happened .

If anybody wants to try and replicate this concentrate on getting your Sonar CPU meter to these high levels using high usage CPU plugins.

Are you running Sonar 32 bit or 64 bit? That's the most important thing. If you're running 32-bit Sonar, then it can only use 3GB of memory and that could be causing your problem.

Running Windows 7 64Bit, Sonar 64Bit. Only happens when CPU usage get high 80-90%.
