  • One thing I don't like about the console view

I wish the tracks and buses weren't separated into different frames. I would much prefer them all to be side by side in the same frame, or at least have the option to choose. Anyone agree? I hate that "curtain" divider.

i dislike in track view that if i select all, it doesn't automatically select buses, so if i insert measures in a project i have to remember to manually select all the busses so that the automation is slid over on insert.  meh.

I seem to recall someone suggesting having an option to pop out a track's related bus right beside the strip in the console. I think that can be done in the inspector though can it not?

I like having them separated the way they are.

I set one screenset to all tracks, and one to all buses.

It's especially handy if you have a lot of buses. I usually have almost as many buses as I do tracks.

What I would like to see though, is the ability to rearrange tracks in console view. I think we used to be able to do that prior to the X series.

Hmm... I guess it kind of can't. Why do I recall something like that? Probably the Simple Instrument stuff. The Inspector needs a seriously fix up. Sometimes I just want to look at the bleeding strips and doing that is an enormous pain if not totally impossible.

im not sure if you know this but you can drag the curtain divider and pull it up tight to the tracks,
thats what i do,i never have that space in there.
simply grab the divider(where the busses start) and drag it verticaly towards your tracks.

you can also hide things you dont want to see like the metrodone (after all recording is done)

You can rearrange tracks in consolle view. Just press ALT and drag the track/strip

Its the default for the Track Inspector if you have the Inspector extended to two strips. The track will be next to the buss it goes to.

Yep, that's the trick.

Yup. Sorry. Getting confused. The problem is as soon as you go into the Clips or Track tabs the strips are partially obscured.

I just now remembered that the only way to get back to that Track/Bus strip view in the Inspector is to click the currently selected tab so it is no longer glowing blue. It's a very weird way of doing things and I think they should fix that. I've actually been through this process of learning how to get to just the raw strips in the Inspector multiple times now and I STILL forgot how to do it because of the way it's set up. I just think it's not very user friendly in that regard. There should be a separate tab just for the strips or a close button for the Clip/Track menus that obscure the strips. I didn't even learn how to do that from the manual or any of the other resources. I spent a couple of hours freaking out poking at everything I could until I brought the strips to the top. lol
