Okay so I'm working on a song in Sonar X2a in the PRV Drum Grid and when I right click to drag a rectangle to select some notes on the snare drum grid row, any notes on the Kick Drum row that fall horizontally with the rectangle get selected as well, even though vertically the selection rectangle is no where near the Kick drum row. Of course the problem being moving the snare notes is also moving the kick notes, which of course is not what I want, otherwise I would have extended the selection rectangle around the kick notes as well. This doesn't seem to be an issue with any of the other drum instrument rows, just the kick. The only soltution I've found is to hold down the Ctrl key and drag around the selected kick notes, thereby deselecting them, which is a PITA.

Is this a bug? Is has to be since it doesn't make any sense for any notes outside of the selection lasso to get selected.

Any ideas?

Thanks

perfect time to show my new video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruAnAPR6-hQ

heres the scoop,
if you clicked anywhere in the right (where the instruments are labeled)
like snare/bass drum/hihat/ exc, this highlights the whole row.
you may somehow be selecting this whole row somehow with out knowing it.
try this next time, before you do your right/click to lasso...click anywhere on the time line in the PRV to reset it(but not on any notes.)

watch this video, and see how after i right click lasso a bunch of notes,i often click away afterwards to reset selections.

Its just the truth Charlie.

You pack a lot of information into a short video. You don't make the viewer feel stupid either. Some vids are a little condescending and boring. That one was not.

You explained what you were doing as you did it and why. That is invaluable.

And you were extremely clear. What more can anyone ask? Even though you covered all that you wanted to cover you left the viewer wanting more. This is a known understanding of general entertainment but it also applies to instructional material too. You come away thinking, WOW, whens the next one!

It has great production values too. You know what I mean.
