Is anyone using vienna ensemble pro in Sonar?

How does it work?  Can you bounce tracks in fast mode?

Thanks!

I use Vienna pro to link a small network of computers (I don't throw my old computers away!) - meaning I can leave some old programs that are 32bit on the old systems (all running windows XP) then use them in my main work computer which is 64 bit Windows 7.
It works flawlessly - I use to use FX Teleport but development ceased.

I am a fairly long-time VSL users.  I just bought Dimension Strings and the Pro Player.

Pro Player is not the Same as Ensemble Pro, correct?  It is a bit confusing since there is a classic player, a player, a pro player, and ensemble pro (if ensemble pro is different).

How does Vienna work? That is a vague question.  Yes, you can bounce tracks the same way you would with any other instrument track.

Vienna shows up as a VST instrument in Sonar and communicates to a slave computer via ethernet which runs VST's, allowing you to save resources on your main machine.

Yea sorry, when i ask how does it work ...I mean how WELL does it work??

If you can't fast bounce that might be a deal breaker for me...

Thanks for the responses!

I love it!   Works great.   I just upped my Ram to 24gig and run 100% of my samples through VEP on the same machine.   But even on another machine it acts just like a VST.  Another cool thing version 5 does is it allows you to add midi ports.   Before I would have 1 instance for each midi port.  Now I can have one instance of VEP and multiple ports for it.    That's handy if you have a huge midi template   (Mostly orchestral I imagine.)

And if Sonar will support VST3, you can use Vienna Ensemble classic version for more than one port of 16 MIDI channels in one instance. Hope it will be soon...

Me too!  VEP is a great program and to take full advantage of it we need VST  3!
