"It seems DRAGGIN a plug-in doesn't work for a BUSS . . . it works everywhere else. Very strange. I think I will get used to "Right Clicking" to insert plug-ins everywhere. "

This is strange. Following your posts yesterday, I dragged plugins to tracks and busses (I created a new stereo bus) over and over in X1d, deleting them and trying again, and couldn't get anything to go wrong.

I didn't know you could drag plugins around like that...

Hello,

Update - I've been happily mixing on X1d so far.  I've been able to insert plug-ins into every buss I've created.  Its working as it should on all instances.

Just a thought on Dragging vs Right-click.  When you DRAG, the "graphical interface" portion of Windows comes into play.  While you Click & Drag, the software has to keep track of WHERE on the screen the mouse pointer is.  As you cross over various items on the screen, the software must decide how to respont to every pixel you touch/stop on.  Its a lot of calculations to say the least.

While you are just moving your mouse pointer around, it only has to calculate "mouse movement" and display the movement on the screen.  A pretty simple calculation.  Once you click, then other calculations takes place RELATIVE to the clicked point on the screen.  No "tracking" calculations what so ever.

The other thing that I just thought of is . . .  I have a DUAL SCREEN.  I'm using a dual 1080p 22" monitor set up.  1080p monitors are 1980x1080 pixels per screen.  Thats A LOT OF PIXELS that I am working whith when X1 is stretched from one monitor to the other.  I DO NOT have a separate VIDEO CARD.  I did not feel the need to do so because it is my dedicated music computer.  I'm using the on-board video that is part of the mother board.  I may have reached some kind of a "VIDEO BRICK WALL LIMITER" that may have been causing my crashes.  This is the only explanation that might make sense WHY I can insert a plug-in in one place and not others.  The combination of a Buss software parameter and the "Click-drag" mouse motion is creating a conflict.  Most likely a video display related conflict.

I'm not going to invest in a video card for my old computer,  but if you are thinking about using a dual monitor set up, adding an inexpensive video card with dual output might be a wise choice.  You can pick up an Nvidia or a Radion card with 1GB memory and dual output for $50~$100.  It can relieve all or most video related stress on the CPU, which is a really good thing.

Just an after thought to consider.
