When I try to open some files I get this message: "This file already exists. Please choose a different Project name." Obviously I don't want to "choose a diff. name..." - I want the file that "already exists". I had this problem another time, and was told to try to open it within Sonar (Open>Cakewalk Projects>etc.), and that worked for a while, but now I can't get past that message in Sonar (Open) or in Search Programs and Files (in Start). How do I get past this message so I can open the file that "already exists"? Thanks

Did you go to the Cakewalk folder and set Sonar exe to run as administrator?

How and where does one do that? I looked in my Programs, right clicking anything related to Cakewalk, and in Sonar Preferences - where else to look. I'm not a great computer person - most would probably know this stuff.

Right-click on the SONAR program icon. It should be an option on the context menu that pops up.

I right clicked Cakewalk>Sonar X2>Properties (nothing else to click on)>Security> and it was set to Everyone. The other options were myself, but nothing that said Sonar exc.

Try right-click the SONAR program itself not the folder. The should be an option on the context menu to "Run as administrator"

I tried that , but as I said, that option wasn't offered.

Does your user account have administrator priviledges ? There aren't any non-admistrator accounts on my computer so I can't check, but I wouldn't be surprised if the option wasn't available to a user without the priviledge.

I'm almost certain that my son set it up for me before that I am my administrator. In any case, there are many files I can access with no problem. It doesn't seem that it would be OK with some, and not with others...?
