When writing down keyboard shortcuts for my notes I describe the function then put an equal sign (=) in between the description and the actual shortcut. Like this...

Open Preferences = P 

Well I just learned the shortcut to toggle between a track's current edit filter and the Volume Automation edit filter... which is the equal sign (=).
