Hi, when I created my regular project template, I was using X1, so I just tested the following on X2a:

1. Create a new project using the Normal project template.
2. Delete the existing two tracks.
3. Hide Inspector, MultiDock, Browser and the Bus pane.
4. Insert ten MIDI tracks.
5. Record the same take at once on those ten tracks (of course, I hear nothing 'cause I haven't loaded any VSTi, but it doesn't matter).
6. On the Screenset module, click all other screensets (2 -10) and remember what they look like. Switch back to Screenset 1.
7. Press Ctrl + Down Arrow key several times to zoom out the tracks vertically until only 4 tracks are visible on the screen.
8. Select "Notes" from the MIDI Filter pull-down menu on one of the tracks while pressing the Ctrl key (this will choose the Notes option on all the tracks, and Inline PRVs appear in the Clips pane).
9. On the Screenset module, click all other screensets again and make sure they look the same as before. Switch back to Screenset 1.
10. On the Screenset module, click the pull-down and select Duplicate Current Screenset To > Track View (for example).
11. Switch back to Screenset1, and then click all other screensets once again. I see one or two of them now show the four tall Inline PRVs like screensets 1 and 2.

This is probably just one example.

I've just tried those steps in case its a specific bug recipe but don't get  any unusual behaviour. The only screenset to show the inline PRV is the one I duplicate the original one to. Not sure what's happening for you to see something different. AFAIK the default template for X2 doesn't have any tracks to start with either.

Thanks for checking. Then it must be a specific bug in X2 Essential, which I use.

That's always a possibility, or perhaps something to do with the graphics cards. Although screensets aren't one of them I do get the odd graphics glitch on my laptop (Nvidia) which I don't see on my main system (ATi).

I don't think one is better than the other though as I also see others saying similar but vice versa so make what you will of that.
