i should just leave things alone.
what i did now was to change the meters. however i can't get them to change back to what i had. i tried making a new template, change existing projects nothing seems to work. can anyone tell me how i can change them back? 
i should not be allowed near this without adult supervision. 

Depends on exactly what to want to change. In the advanced setting found in Edit > Preferences > Customization > Audio Meter are a few settings. The rest of the meter settings are in the track view Options > Meter Options menu, console view Options > Meters menu or right-click on a meter in the inspector for meter menus. If you get them all messed up there is a "Reset All Meters" option on all of the meter main menus.
