I updated my X1 software for the first time a few days ago, which meant going through several update processes. Upon restarting X1 I had the following problems:

First, one of the plug-ins had trouble finding the sound libraries for an instrument. I re-assigned the sounds, everything seemed to work again, I saved my project. However, the next time I tried to open the same project, I got the error: "SONARDPR.EXE has stopped working" without any other option but to close the program. I can open X1 and open a new project, insert all the same soft synths, record, edit, play and save. However, upon trying to load it the next time, it will crash.

I can load those troublesome projects in safe mode even using all plugins involved but I'm loosing the screen sets plus I'm not sure that should be the solution to this situation.

I'm using X1(32-bit) on a Windows 7-64 PC with the latest Core-i5, my trusted MOTU 828mk2, a PCR-500 controller and a master keyboard.

Any suggestions welcome!

Did you follow the instructions EXACTLY?
There was a "quick fix" that had to be rolled back IIRC.

Were you running X1 Expanded?

There are/were separate installers  for Expanded and non-Expanded
