Hey Guys,

Question... I've been seeing in the news this week that a new ruling finally puts the "Happy Birthday" song in the public domain... Like for example: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/happy-birthday-song-officially-recognized-in-public-domain/

But then when Googling for confirmation I'm seeing articles from February of this year and September of 2015 also saying rulings were made that finally make "Happy Birthday" Public Domain... So was it just sorta public domain back then and now it really is? Actually one of the articles written this week said something about the final judgement not being made until around July 12th or something because of unpaid legal fees or something I think? So is it still not really until then?

And then the real ultimate question... does that mean we could make and release covers of the "Happy Birthday" song now? Because I was thinking about trying it just for fun haha, but if it came out good, who knows, maybe putting it out there for licensing.

God that only brought up more questions haha. But it sounds to me like it's in the public domain... so if I did a cover I'd be fine. But man who knows... Haha.
