You are probably going to spend a little time with drum maps to get what your want. The user download area on the Toontrack site has some EZD drum maps that may get you started.

Are you using the bass tracks that come with the various DR880 loops?
I found that TTS-1 handles them nicely where as I have not been able to hear them using SD3 (IOW just the drums come thru tho the bass trax are midi'd in with the drums.)
I'd be pleased to hear SD3 handles Bass and I just don't know how to set it up.

Glenn,
Yes, I was sending the bass track as well, I didn't figure out how to NOT send the bass track.  It did occur to me that the bass notes might have been affecting the process of laying the ez drums over the midi.

I like the bass riffs that accompany the loops but you can turn them off with the bass volume knob at the top left of the machine.

Yeah I did do that, but I would imagine that the midi data still came though.  There are some nice patches on that thing I'd really like to get off and into Sonar.  As in the raw midi data, not just audio.

Yeah I asked that too but I'm told the samples in the machine can't be transferred.
You have to just use the midi data and get the samples from SD3, TTS-1 or other plugs.
I'd also love it if all the midi loops were available.
There are 500 standard loops not to mention all the fills.
I've been bringing in midi loops and making Groove Clip loops from them.
They are very useful as they adjust to the tempo automatically.
If you are doing that too, maybe we can share.

Bass is sent via channel 2 and drums are sent via channel 10...this might be your issue...are you set up with it set to omin as far as your MIDI input? If that is the case, you are gonna hear all the notes from all the channels coming out of the DR880...I figured this out just recently...I didn't realize I had it set to omni and that is why I was hearing exrta notes...

I have not dealt with drum maps and the data from the DR880.
Would this allow separation of instruments (like in SD3) or is this a different function?

Frosty, I could reach through the internet and give you a great big ol man hug!!!
You just made my day. You said something in your post that made sense. The fact that I needed to listen to channel 10.  That then turned the light bulb on that I should just by-pass the fast track and go straight into my computer via USB.

When i did that, I was able to see channel 10 for the midi input and POOF!  Not only that, but when I applied the output of this into ez drummer, it all started working. Now, when i play the DR-880, it controls my ez drummer!

DUDE!! I struggled with this all weekend wondering what the hell I was doing wrong.

SWEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!

Set the input of SD3 to 10 for the drums and set the input for another like the TTS1 to channel 2 and you should be able to hear both I imagine...I have not tried this, but will after work tomorrow...it should work though...
