When trying to enter Preferences I get the message "A required resource was unavailable"

This is a new PC build and I have not been able to set up the HD audio options it seems. Perhaps that is causing this error?

That can be a message indicating that whatever is being requested is being held by something else - like something got appropriated exclusively and failed to get released.

I am a bit confused about what you meant about your HD audio - can you please elaborate on that?

Also, can you please detail your system specs in your forum signature?

Hi Audiosynth, 

Since you're running Win8, it's important that you install the X2a patch.  The initial X2 version did not have official Win8 support yet.

The newer Realtek onboard soundcards are called HDTek cards.


Not sure if that's what he means though.

Thanks especially for the advice to install the Sonar X2a Patch which I had overlooked.

That did the trick.

And I will try to update my Profile asap.
