Hey Sharke....I don't know if this would have anything to do with your problem...but...from looking at your image you posted, it shows your clip length as 8:944 .

With your resolution set to 960, your clip length is exactly 16 ticks from 960.

Looks like this could somehow be affecting where your clip lands.

I know this probably doesn't help...but it might give you something to look in to.

If I may ... (LOL),

I don't see this kind of behavior when I use the Step Sequencer, but I do see it when I create my own loops or use the Loop Construction View tool.

There is something that is not quite right when you create your own loops from a Midi clip, or Audio clip. It's been that way as far back as I can remember.

Try converting your clips in to Step Sequencer clips and see if that helps.

I completely gave up on making my own Groove Clips because no matter how far in I zoom, and how exact I make them to a measure ... they almost always end up drifting. It's especially evident if you use the Metronome.

Please try the Step Sequencer tip and let us know if that helps.

Good luck!

Bub.

Hi Folks,

There are 2 hit points for snapping, snap to the start of clip and snap at the end of clip. Grabbing the first half of the clip will snap the beginning of the clip to the grid, the last half of the clip snaps the end boundary. Aim assist will be the guide as to how the clip is being snapped. Judging from the image posted here, it looks like the clip was snapped at the end of the clip.  If this is not the case, I would be happy to work with anyone who is willing to help us figure out what is causing unexpected snap issues.

The MIDI loop issue is known and we hope to address it in a future update. In the meantime, enabling the metronome should solve this problem for you. For example: sending the metronome to a muted bus is solving the problem in house.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Dan, that certainly makes sense and I will try it tonight! In my mind, I always pick up clips from the left hand side, but maybe I haven't in this case. Will see later!!

Nice to hear the loop issue is being addressed - a rather strange workaround for sure but if it works it works.

Ah, right then, thanks for that. I'l give that a whirl.

That muted metronome bus thing has been brought up before. It doesn't work on all systems, but if it does for you ... then great! I've tried, it doesn't work on the two DAW's I tried it on. See post #12 above Dan's post.

There's actually a substantial thread about it here somewhere ... I'm not going to go look for it ... but it's out there.

the last half of the clip snaps the end boundary. [Cakewalk]
Hi Dan,
Is there any way I can disable this feature?

Hi Jlien X

No, the behavior is across the board. Use the Aim Assist indicator to determine how the clip or selection is snapping in the meantime. We're looking at some options to make it better in a future version. Thanks for your patience.
