I'm having issues with the BitBridge window. Here's an example. I'll have a plugin open in BitBridge and if that plugin opens a pop-up window, it doesn't open on top of the plugin property page as it normally would. If I click on the BitBridge window in Windows taskbar, I can see the plugin and the pop-up (two different windows), but if I click on the pop-up to select it, it gives me the plugin property page without the pop-up (again, because the pop-up is in a separate window). And I can't make changes to the plugin without first dismissing the pop-up (by clicking 'Yes', 'No', 'OK', etc.). Maybe this is a Windows 8 issue, I don't know, but it's driving me crazy. Is there any way around it?

I didn't even know there was a BitBridge window, how do I open it? I thought BB was just a process that started automatically when you opened a 32-bit plug.

sharke, I think he's referring to the bitbridge processes in Task Manager?

When you open 32 bit plugins in the 64 bit version of Sonar, they're opened in the BitBridge wrapper. If you minimize them, they're relegated to a separate window outside Sonar (the BitBridge window), which you can access through the Windows taskbar (just like other minimized windows such as file explorer, your browser, etc.). The problem is, if the plugin I'm using opens a pop-up, that pop-up is also relegated to the Bitbridge window, and for some reason I can't access it (clicking on the pop-up brings up the plugin property page, not the pop-up), which basically locks up the plugin because I can't use it until I get rid of the pop-up. Good news: I just demoed Jbridge, which doesn't have this issue. Bad news: I have have to pay for a 3rd party program to get work done. :(

Hi Shawn,

Yes that bitbridge "occlusion" problem has occured to me before,

IIRC, you can right-click on the bitbrige icon in the taskbar, and select MOVE,

then move the plugin out of the way, so you can click on the popup dialog underneath ..

To be honest, do yourself a favor, and invest 12 bucks to buy jbridge.
not only this one-guy does better than Cakewalk-licensing-FX-teleport- buggy and un-supported software,
at the end of the day, with Jbridge, you'll have more music done,

I hope that helps !

Frosty...I'm assuming that your Waves plugs are DX.  You can use this little app to wrap DX plugs and they will work with 64 bit software.

It's called dxshell, and it allows my OLD (12 yrs +) Waves plugs to work

Thanks man...I might give this a try. I have version 9, but for some crazy reason, the 64 bit version will not install so I have to go with 32 bit version...I just haven't messed around enough to figure out why. They went on my laptop with no problem, but did not on my main DAW. Weird I know.

Hi Frosty !

Maybe you should contact Waves about this ... it clearly seems to be something wrong with your 64bit installer.

Cheers !
