Greetings,
When installing the X2 update (a), everything starts to install and then a window pops up that says something in regards to "Microsoft Visual C++ 2012" and then it just stays there. I have killed the freeze, would reboot and..try again. Same thing each time.

Anyone know what is going on?
Thanks,

Please check my footer, ideally we should know whether you are using 64 bit or 32 bit, and what operating system you are using. You should be using Windows 7 or Windows 8. You may try to download your sonar package again...

Cheers...

Here is a link to the install instructions (scroll to the bottom of the page)

It is also possible the download was corrupted. If you used Internet Explorer to download it try Firefox or Chrome instead as they have integrated download managers or if you must use IE download and install a separate download manager (I think the popular one is FreeDownloadManager).

If it continues to cause problems call support and they'll hook you up. 1-888-CAKEWALK

Cheers and good luck.

This happened to me once.

What happened was, there was another window hidden behind the Sonar installation Window waiting for a prompt, so it looked as though nothing was happening. In reality, it was waiting for me to click continue.

Your Windows should be brought up to current maintenance levels - at LEAST Service Pack 1, prior to installation of X2a.

Beginning with the X2a release, there is a minimum level of maintenance required for Windows 7, and that is that you must have Service Pack 1 installed.  Sonar X2a is reliant on redistributable C++ files that are part of the Service Pack 1 update for Windows.

So, try getting all of the Windows maintenance done, then do your X2a install.
