Platinum Samples has released Accent Ocean Way Drums - the first library to use their new Accent virtual instrument.
The Accent player is available as AAX64, VST2 and AU and supports sample rates up to 96kHz with a resolution of 24-bits. Accent also includes it's own internal effects (Gain, Filter, 4 Band EQ, Compressor, Limiter, Gate and Reverb) as well as has support for 3rd party plugins (VST2, VST3 and AU on OS X and VST2 and VST3 on Windows). With a resizable user interface and familiar DAW style Mixer users should find it comfortable to use.
The library was recorded and produced by acclaimed producers Allen Sides and Steven Miller at Ocean Way Studio B in Hollywood California using their "one of a kind" Delcon recording console.
The samples are formatted for Platinum Samples Accent and are available at 96kHz/24-bit.
This library includes four full kits with Crash, Splash, China and Ride cymbals plus four bonus Kick and Snare drums. The Kicks and Toms were recorded with the snare strainer both on and off. Each snare drum is recorded with two microphone options: Shure SM57 and AKG C12A. All kits also include 3 sets of stereo room microphones.
Sides and Miller also created 6 "mix presets" per kit designed to instantly provide record quality. These mixes are continuously adjustable and range from completely dry to extremely ambient, utilizing the 3 sets of stereo room microphones that reveal Studio B's thunderous acoustics.
Also included are the Platinum Samples Grooves Volume 1 formatted for Accent with over 2,000 groove variations.
Price: $149.99. More details and sound samples at www.platinumsamples.com.

That interface looks to be pretty full featured. 4 full kits with 6 presets each for that price is pretty a pretty good deal, no?

I wonder what the audio/midi expansion packs will cost (assuming there will be many more to come).

I love their samples in BFD. I'm guessing they won't be doing anymore BFD libraries now?

I have also asked this same question re: SSD, but for all you folks that have more drum libraries (I am mostly Toontrack only), they all sound excellent, but once I get used to a particular interface, I find it difficult to take the time to learn another system. They all look pretty easy, but I also worry that it leads to many add-on packs needed to purchase to really keep it interesting. Seems a bit like a bottomless pit....But are there particular reasons that this kid would shine over the others? THanks.
