see i get it to show up in the menu but when i highlight the tracks to be imported into SF 9 nothing happens. i used the http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013099 to accomplish this...

Thanks for this thread! I have SF8 still and AutoTune 4 which I prefer on bass tracks, as I haven't had much luck with V-Vocal on bass parts.  Since my old P4 XP machine still has SF, Sonar 5.2 and Auto Tune, I figured I could export tracks and re import the wav. files into X2aPE
I figured I would go with Celemony Melodyne Editor, vs Auto Tune7, and haven't paid attention to what version of Sound Forge is 64 bit, if it is, yet.

If SoundForge runs but the selected wav does not load into SoundForge, more often then not, the registry entry Type is not set to WaveEditor (no spaces)

Review your registry entries.

The latest version of Sound Forge 10 installs both 32bit and 64bit versions of Noise Reduction, Acoustic Mirror, Wave Hammer, and élastique Timestretch.  See release notes here: http://dspcdn.sonycreativesoftware.com/releasenotes/soundforgepro10.0.507_readme_enu.htm

Have been using SF and SONAR in tandem for many years.
With the ability to send a clip, track, section of audio or multiple tracks from SONAR to SF, edit them and then send the processed audio back to SONAR, there is no real need to use SF plugins in SONAR but SF 10 and SONAR can share the above plugins as stated. I use a free wrapper called FX Chainer which works well for using 32 bit DX/i in SONAR x64 but its no longer available for download.

Vegas 12 has gone full 64 bit and I expect SF 11 to go full 64 bit. Although I have to say I've never had an audio project I couldn't load in SF. that's either a stereo or multi track project.

hey, good post. i do disagree with one of your statements though.there is good reason to use soundforge plugins in sonar x2. for me it gives me a great idea of what f/x i will be using later and how they will effect the sound and tone of the mics on instruments while still on the mixing board of sonar x2. it's too much time to for me to export separate files all the time to hear how this will effect my mix. i like the eqs in soundforge and love the noise reduction. also don't mind the compressor either. these are key plugins that are placed in my f/x bins before they get to boost 11 on the master bus. so to say there is no reason to use em en sonar i respectfully disagree. besides there is no wrong way to make great music with plugins.

Yes, I did this yesterday successfully.  I inserted the Sony ExpressFXDelay into a clip, and it worked like a charm.  I'm using X2 in 64 bit mode on Windows 7 64 bit.

has anyone got soundforge to show up in x2 pro, running win 7 64 bit? i really miss being able to use these soundforge f/x. i love the way sonar x2 runs in 64 bit, just wish i could use my go to plugins without xing out and going into 32 bit mode.

@mudgel I think there are reasons one might want to use the effects in soundforge directly in Sonar. One I can think of off the top of my head relates to the fact that the console emulation in the pro channel is somewhat of a cumulative effect. Without being able to hear the track you wish to add the SF effects on in real time with the other tracks that have had the console emulation applied there will be a subtle difference between what you hear in SF and what occurs in Sonar after it renders.

I have some old DX plugins that are several years old.  Never could use them in anything 64 bit until I ran across a post here in the forum about a little prog called dxshell.  I downloaded it and placed it in my plugin folder and now all of the old DX plugins show up...not only in X2 64 bit....but even in my Sony Vegas Pro ver 11 64 bit and Vegas Pro 12.

I don't use them much....but they are available just in case I decide to.
