I use Temple Blocks a lot (or used to before my Kurzweil PC2R became unreliable).  Any thoughts where I can find Temple Block samples?  I have Kontakt, if you know of a seet that works with it—but I am open to other possibilities.

Vienna includes them in its large percussion set, but that set mostly duplicates the VSL percussion I already have so it would be way too expensive to buy that just for temple blocks.

Other ideas?

(Note:  tuned woodblocks sort of work but they don't sound exactly the same.)

Old school answer: search ebay for actual used temple blocks. Maybe a school might be selling some. Just a thought.

You mean The Mighty Konrad would actually have to play something?  With his own hands?

Seriously, although I would like to have a virtual instrument to program and still want to find that, your idea is cool.  It would be interesting to have some real ones around.

I couldn't find any free ones, but if you Google "Temple Blocks VST" you'll find some plugs that have them.

I have found that, for certain things like tambourine (in particular), bell tree, shaker, triangle, etc., sometimes people knock themselves out searching for the perfect VST, when the REAL DEAL can actually be had for cheap. And lasts forever / always works. No iLok or version conflicts (haha), etc. And sounds "amazingly realistic" (because it IS). Sometimes simpler is better. Best - Ed
