Hello All-

I finally have a computer that can handle X2 studio. I am upgrading from Sonar 8 studio, taking advantage of a lower-price-than-new upgrade deal.
Question: Will I need to perform any installation from my old Sonar 8 discs before installing X2? Again, this is a new computer running Win7. I plan on doing both 32 and 64 bit install.

I know I will need my old registration info.

Thanks!

No, you do not need to install anything other than X2. If there are effects in 8 that are not part of X2, you can install the later with a custom install of 8. You do not even need the old registration info.

No, you do not need a previous installation,

As for the registration information, I think you will have to register your new X2 to the same Cakewalk account as you registered Sonar 8, to be able to register without problems,
As you do not need any previous registration info in order to INSTALL the software.

I hope that helps !

Cheers !

Even though you pay for an upgrade, X2 is a complete installation.
You do not need Sonar 8 to install X2.
The only exception would be any plug-ins or instruments that were in 8 and not in X2. They could be installed by themselves.
If you're moving from the studio version,I don't think you'll be missing anything.
