Voda La Void
So this ballad has been resurrected.  I didn't have it in tracked form, so I laid some new tracks along side the old main track in an attempt to rescue the sound a little.  It's a pop song, and I don't usually do pop songs, and I'm really out of my comfort zone on this one.  It's not a complicated musician's song either - this is easy stuff to play, ha ha.  But it's fun and it sounds cool, I think.

What do *you* guys and gals think?  (oh, I mixed it loud btw, so by all means, turn it up)

I like the song....very nice tune/melody/singing and mix. I'm listening through H-phones and not sure if this makes a difference or not, but the drums sounded slightly muffled and could be a bit more brighter. The other thing I noticed (around the 14 sec mark of the song) was a transition note that seemed "off key" and was done throughout the song at that same interval. If it was intentional, then no worries.......

The mood/effects were translated really well and your song writing skills/singing is very good. Listening to your other songs.....I see what you mean by this is not your comfort zone . I think it's great to diversify and combine different genre's.......well done!!

Mesh, thanks for the listen.  Yes, that piano note is off key on purpose.  It was translated from guitar, where that note works better in context.  Drums brighter huh?  Hmm, didn't see that one coming.  I'm happy to have been able to completely obscure the original snare sound, which was atrocious, so I hope that cover-up isn't creating the muffled effect.

Thanks again man.  Been kind of sweating a little on this one because it felt so weird to sing like that.  There was nothing to hide behind in the music, ha ha.

I will give yours a listen, promise.  I just can't listen to songs here at work.

Tim, I really like the classic rock vibe of this production.  The mix is spread out and open with a good balance between all elements.  Plus, I like the fact that it breathed and wasn't overly compressed even though it was mixed loud.  As for that note, it may sound good on a guitar, but I'd change it for piano, otherwise, this is a gem.

Thanks Lynn.  I guess that note is a problem for some, but there's nothing I can do about it now.  That archive had all instruments mixed together into one audio track.  I'd have to redo the entire song just to get rid of that note.

Thanks for listening and happy Thanksgiving.

I had to listen a second time to hear "the note".  I never noticed it before.  I really like the tune and the mix.   The note I heard was on the piano.  I only knew it was there because I saw the others mentioned it.  Your vocals sound really good.

This sounded quite good here though there seemed to be some underlining noise which became very apparent towards the end.  The drums sounded fine here and as noted the mix was nice and open also capturing the emotion in the voice.

Thanks for sharing
