hI,
Nice, Slarta ... enjoyed reading that.
One more slight detail ... by using, almost strictly, a DAW, in many ways the similarities will be even more visible than they were before, and I think the intellectual side of things is going to get way worse, before a bunch of judges decide to throw it all in the tank!
I don't know ... I think we're getting caught up in 3 seconds again, instead of the whole piece. I mean, it's not like someone has not stolen 6 bars from Puccini, from one of the 24 staffs in the score of Opera X, and made a love song out of it, but no one has heard the Opera yet and Puccini, fortunately, has no lawyers left to support him!
I just find the whole thing frivolous, but at least Hot Tuna was playing the old stuff instead of saying they invented it! But I find that a lot of what LZ did, specially in the first 3 to 4 years on the road, was excellent, regardless of where it came from. No one else had the feel and the care to do it as well, and Mick Jagger certainly couldn't!
