Yup, it is finally the time for REAL homegrown tomatoes down here which is the only real reason to even exist in the hellish heat we Southernors laughingly refer to as "summertime". And today, after buying more maters than I can possibly eat I had my first BLT of the season. But heck, I could honestly do without the lettuce and the bread...even the mayo...long as I had BECAN and TOMATOES!

I started buying the quarter sized ones to snack on. They are great with Becan!

One thing that irritates my Doctor is pizza which I love like an 8" crust St. Mary's. Makes just the right size! Add olive oil, spices then put in the oven at 375. Take out put a nice layer of tomato or pizza sauce with mozzarella cheese, a few mushrooms, black olives.  Stick it back in the over 5 min. In the meantime cut some pepperoni slices and put them in the microwave at thaw out 45 sec.  Paper towel excess grease from the pepperoni place on pizza, add one last layer of mozzarella cheese back in the oven 3 minutes. Take out to cool / cut  

OK...so I have what may be a stupid question. One which, once asked, may risk my being ostracized from the Coffee House Good Sam's Club or something...which I sincerely hope It does not do.

Why do we all misspell the word Bacon as BECAN as a matter of course?

I'll gladly go on doing it as it is a trivial thing of no real consequence, but could somebody hip me as to why?
