scook    I thought I wouldn't be able to input more than usb device into Sonar! Do you mean, that I could for example mic my amp via the Tascam usb and run the Mustang Floor's usb into another Sonar track and perhaps another from the Super Champs usb output?!?!
I need to get clear about this, as my wife's setup will require a mic, plus stereo keyboard, and her guitar which she might like to sing while playing guitar to the drums on the keyboard. I don't try to talk her into anything! LOL
Thanks Michael

Oh that is very clear and REALLY helpful cryophonik! Thanks a lot for that!
I have no experience with the Ti2 (or earlier versions), other than loving the sounds enough to buy it! As my wife likes to say, it is a "Big, in a HUGE way" step from my first SH101. I am curious about using it as an audio interface, though getting this new gear set up and working+ getting used to X2PE and finishing up our current project is my priority.

Great, glad to hear that I could help clear up some confusion.  BTW, I just noticed where you're from - I'm a fellow western Michigander, born and raised in Muskegon.  I used to spend a lot of time up your way skiing, camping, flyfishing, going to the Dunes, etc.  Lovely area.

It is not the connector type that is the issue. Each of the devices you are describing are distinct audio interfaces. You could connect and use a USB midi device and a USB audio device no problem. But you are not going to be able to connect multiple USB audio devices and use them at the same time in ASIO mode.

scook    Thanks. That is what I thought I remembered ( tho I forgot that it was the ASIO issue)....only one audio interface at a time. So, I guess the question then is,
1. is the Ti2 acting as an audio interface via Virus Control?
2. both the Super Champ and Mustang Floor multiFX are audio interfaces. Do I have disable the Tascam's drivers or will simply not turning it on, while using them (one at a time!), work? That would also be true for the Ti2.
3. You are actually talking about playing ie a virtual synth via a midi keyboard, yes?
This is all really helping! Some of this, I have not done in a while and some is completely new.
Thanks to all! Michael

We love it up here! Though we continually threaten to buy another RV and winter south or west and certainly, warmer! We are having a little blizzard at the moment, but don't have to go anywhere, which really takes the edge of that! I've spent a lot of my life in Michigan, after moving up from Chicago, and have moved back from New England, Austin, New Mexico, Colorado, and Washington state, though we talk about the northwest often.....we did this morning!
Thanks for your help!  I will PM you once I mess with a little and want more info on it!
I listened to the track on your page. Nice!

1) I cannot speak to Virus specifically.

2) Anything that is plugged into the computer sending audio to SONAR is an audio interface. You will have to enable/disable their inputs in the SONAR preferences screen to record each device. You can leave the Tascam setup as audio out for monitoring.

3) MIDI can be for softsynth, controlling some effects plugins and possibly the Virus if it can be used as a external sound source.

I believe that the solution was posted earlier.  You should be able to leave the Tascam as your ASIO device, and insert the Virus Control as a soft synth.

You can have a zillion USB devices - only ONE ASIO device can be used at a time.  So your other USB connections, like from your Fender, are fine.  I have a Presonus ASIO interface plugged in with USB, and my Yamaha midi keyboard is also plugged in as USB.

Here is what that phonik guy posted earlier:

"You don't need to switch the audio drivers to use the TI2 in Virus Control mode.  You would only switch the audio driver if you want to use the Virus TI2 as a soundcard for recording or monitoring.  If you are only using it as a plugin via USB, insert the Virus plugin as a synth and it will automatically sync with the hardware.  You'll then be hear the audio through your Tascam, just as you would with any other soft synth, the difference being that the Virus hardware is actually generating the sound and using its own processing power, rather than your CPU.  Hopefully I understand your question correctly."

Read the above carefully - this is what will work for you to control the TI2 through Sonar, WHILE using the Tascam as your actual selected ASIO device in Sonar.  Make the Virus Control insert as a synth.  It is a PLUGIN.

So, please give the above a shot and post back with results,

Bob Bone
