The Scroll Lock's another one - this has been the solution to "my disappearing now time" for many of the unaware.

That pause key thing has gotten me many times.  My biggest complaint against Sonar is all the shortcut keys: there are lots and if you bump one and don't know which one you hit, you can go nuts trying to figure out what's wrong.

There's a good idea here in the making (maybe). Key-command groups with Enable/Disable functionality. How it could work is that in Preferences you could Enable/Disable ALL keystrokes, and then you can Enable/Disable 10 specific "groups" of keystroke commands. Then, you could go to the mappings section (another Menu area) and assign each key command to one of the groups.

And here's an added bonus. Notice I said 10 groups above. One per.......Screen? Wouldn't it be cool to have keystrokes that can be assigned, enabled, disabled, or....re-used based on what window you have open?

I'm in over my head with suggestions here, that I'm being silly and over-the-top, but I agree that we all 'bump' keys we don't mean to, and that's frustrating when "whatever you did" doesn't give you an indication as to whether you need to press Ctrl+Z for an Undo or not.

One of the easiest ways to avoid a lot of the problems that I have seen on this forum with keyboard shortcuts is to avoid creating single key bindings. It is just to easy to accidentally trigger a function when it is bound to a single keystroke.

With the new "touch" features, I imagine it gets better. Until then, a history-selective based Undo would be cool, or at least be able to see if what you accidentally did changed something.

I'd like to see a plug-in change Undo.

What, an Fx bin plugin change? Undo has always worked for this.

Or do you mean a parameter tweak? Now that would be useful.

Parameter tweak. Even a fader move.

Not an undo as such, but if you inadvertently move a fader, right click it and select "Revert to nn.ndB"

This has the bonus that every fader always retains it's last position before you move it,  so you can go away and do all sorts of editing and then come back and still make the "revert" selection

Undo of course only undoes the last action

Many controls have this feature, not just the main fader

Can one sever a key binding?  I would think that either completely disabling a particular binding would be helpful, if one repeatedly causes confusion through errant keystrokes on a regular basis.

Or possible better, take those kinds of key bindings and alter them to use combinations of keys, rather than single key binding effect.

Just a thought.

There is an unbind button in the keyboard shortcut screen.

Thanks - I thought so, but never messed with bindings, other than to look through them from time to time.
