@Bristol_Jonesey - you are freaking me out, man! :)
I JUST 2 minutes ago pasted those very same instructions into someone else's thread (with a shout to you for creating them), and I was going to do the same thing again here.
Nicely done - those are pretty well written.
NOW, on to other pieces of this situation:
I ran an experiment where I changed the Location information for a brand new standard user account that I set up, then started Sonar under that user. Sonar runs just FINE in that manner.
That leads me to believe that whatever 'little program' you ran to accomplish this has messed things up.
At this point, is Sonar running properly under the admin user? If not, then I think Windows is likely messed up in some fashion, although it could be Sonar, I suppose (but not likely).
For an experiment, please set up a new standard user, and then while logged on as that user, see if Sonar will run. If it does, that's a good sign - it means you have a functioning Sonar, and that Windows is happy with the new user's internal structure and such.
So, if the above worked, THIS time, do NOT use that little program you used, but instead use what is already built into Windows to allow you to relocate user folders.
To move user folders:
1. Start Windows Explorer
2. Do these steps for all of your user folders (Downloads, Desktop, My Documents, etc.) for the account you want to do this for.
3. Right-click on one of the folders (in the right pane of Windows Explorer), and then click on Properties, then on Location.
4. Change the location to wherever you want the folder moved to.
5. Do this for all user folders for this account, or whichever of the folders you want to move.
There is no special program needed for any of this. I am wondering why you want to relocate everything - this is a new user account you indicated that you had set up - since there would not be any giant bunch of user data for this new user, why do you feel you need to move its unused folders to another location on your computer?
You could just make sure your samples and projects live somewhere other than with the OS.
