Hi everyone!!  i need to control some vst instruments via midi, and i'd like to activate them selecting the track where they are, but i don't have idea about it. Anyone here knows if it's possible?? and how??

Thanks!!

Pd: I'm using Sonar 8

I'm not entirely sure I understand the question, but if you are asking what I think, this might help.
I'm pretty sure you can't select a track from your controller.
Sometimes I will be working with several synths, but only want to play one at a time with my controller.

I'll set the input of each MIDI track to a different channel, and turn on Input Echo for all of them.
I then set the channel at the controller for whichever synth I want to play.
The synths all  remain active, but I am selecting which one the controller is communicating with.
Hope that makes sense.

Wow!! it works!!! i have followed your instructions and there is no problem at all. I can change from vst to vst randomly without problems.

Normally i use Cubase 5 but i couldn't solve this problem with it. I'm not a keyboard player, the keys player on my band  is going to be very grateful for this.

If you know the way  for cubase i would be very very grateful to you.

Thanks a lot for all!!!!
