Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone saw this same issue and could throw this dog a quick bone. I'm updating from X1d. I've downloaded all packages of X2 install. Ran the 1st one, installed and booted successfully. I go to install the next Package and an error message pops up the says, "Install and Run previous Package". Which I've obviously already done. I searched the forum for that phrase but didn't see any matches. Any help is most appreciated. Thanks

Did you do the install as administrator?  Not sure if it still matters, used to seem to help things along to do that.  (I just always run installs this way anymore)

Thanks for the reply. I did indeed install as Administrator. When I downloaded the lot, Package 2 & 3 had an issue. I re-downloaded them today. Maybe because they weren't downloaded at the same time as the other packages it throws off the whole thing? Not sure. At this point I'm uninstalling the bits of X2 that worked. Then I'm going to download the whole lot again and try that. A bit of waist of time, but I got no other ideas.

Sounds like your install files are incomplete. Make sure you use a download manager (e.g. Free Download Manager) if you're using Internet Explorer, or better yet, use the Chrome browser which has a download manager built-in. If your install files are downloaded properly, you only need to run the Part 1 file and the other 3 should run automatically.

Scook, your right. Right under my nose.

Scook/Dave, I downloaded Google Chrome, and started downloading the set again.

I think when it was downloading last night, the computer went into Sleep Mode and threw Package 2 for a loop. I disabled Sleep mode this time, fingers crossed.

This is simple stuff I know, and I'm fairly savvy with computers, so no excuses. Sorry to come on here singing the blues. I really just want to Record the blues with my new X2 Suite.

I tried this morning and got the same exact message. I have all the programs downloaded correctly, and they're all in the same folder on my desktop (they were directly downloaded to that folder) on my C-Drive. It installs the first part perfectly fine, but doesn't auto-run the following parts like it's supposed to. And doesn't load them when I try and run them myself.

Did you validate the md5 values? The files are self-extracting RAR files, you can test the archives with a tool like 7-Zip. For that matter, if the files are good, you should be able to extract the setup.exe and bin files and run the installation process manually (though that should not be necessary).

I downloaded the WinMD5Free program you reference on the other tread. I obtained the CURRENT MD5 Checksum value by browsing for the Part 2 file on my system. How/where do I get the Original MD5 Value to see if it matches?

At the bottom of http://www.cakewalk.com/s...tion_instructions.aspx are the links to the file lists with hash values for each version of X2.
