Scook, I used the Hash Values you lead me to. All the Hash Values Verified Perfectly. What do I do? The only thing I can think to try now is to uninstall my Sonar X1d, and try the X2 downloads from scratch. I don't know if that will do a darn thing, but I'm running low on options. Sorry to be a pain, any thoughts?

Just to be clear, the first thing you ran was 01_Read_This_First.exe? It seems counter-intuitive to include an installer in what from its title looks like a "read me" file, but apparently that is how it works.

You know what... maybe I didn't. I'll give this a shot and let you know. Thanks

The fun continues... That didn't do it. I'm going to call Tech Support tomorrow. I tried today, but saw the offices were closed due to a Company Function taking place today.

You have to start from the 02_SONAR_X2_Producer.part1.exe file and that will install Sonar, not the 01 Read This First file.

I am wondering if maybe there are remnants of your prior install attempts that have to be deleted manually.

I would recommend a COMPLETE erasing of any of the prior installation attempts of X2, prior to trying to re-install it.

Here are instructions posted in an earlier thread by Bristol_Jonesey (thanks, bud):

1) Completely un-install SONAR from your computer. This is normally done from Start | Programs | Cakewalk. This will not remove any of your project files or audio data.

2) Open the Run Command
In Windows Vista and 7 this can be done by holding down the ‘windows’ key and pressing ‘r’

3) At the prompt type regedit and click OK.

***Backup your Registry before making edits - you do this by clicking the File menu, Export Registry File.   ***

4) Now delete the following Registry keys:
 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\X2
 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\X2

NOTE  that this will remove any effects presets and key bindings you may have made in Cakewalk. You can back these up separately if you like, using Options|Key Bindings, Tools|SONAR Plug-in Manager, and Options|Colors. Hit F1 in these views for detailed instructions on how to do this.

5) Open the 'Run' command again.

6) Copy and paste the following into the prompt:   %appdata%\Cakewalk

7) This will open your Cakewalk Application Data folder, right-click on the SONAR folder and choose rename.
8) Rename this folder SONAR X2 Backup.

9) Open the 'Run' command again and type msconfig Click OK and then click on the Startup tab at the upper right of the window that opens.

10) Uncheck all items listed, click OK, then restart your computer. You can always recheck those items again at a later time.

11) Then reinstall SONAR. Make sure to have any virus scanners disabled on installation. It is not required or recommended to turn off any windows services.

Please note that step number 9 and 10 are not part of the removal process - he included those steps to help reduce the number of programs that are running during the install - which is a good idea.  You will want to enable them again after completing a successful install, although you may want to review those items to see if you really want them running at start up of Windows.

Hey guys, this may just be a case of me being a moron. I talked to Tech Support today. As it was before, I would run the 1st package, it would go through successfully. Then I would click the 2nd one because nothing else happened, then I would get the "Install previuos message". Tech support said it's actually been installed perfectly the whole time. If it says install succesful, ITS DONE. You won't see it reference the other packages, it just happens seemlessly. If you click on the 2nd package, it will give that message no matter what. I haven't been home to make sure of this, but if it checks out, this case can be put to rest. I just wanted to post incase it saves someone else time.

That is funny. Its the only thing you left out of your description of what you were doing. Right once you start the install form the first file you don't have to click on any other.

Now when you open X2 disregard the laughter from as it is a smartass.

Usually when it says "Install was Successful" it means it completed without error and you can use it. Get busy!
