After reading thru all of your comments...and a lot of contemplation, I'm going to wait and see what tomorrow's black friday deal is and if I don't like it, I may take the plunge and by the 3 pro-channel modules that are on sale. I've been waiting to see if they would put all 4 pc modules on a black friday deal or if they would bring back the SOFTUBE bundle.

That Softube bundle is available right now for $157.99 from Audio Deluxe:

Thanks, Eddie... but I was kind of hoping to get my hands on the PC modules and VST's. The only drawbacks to the PC modules is that they are SONAR specific whereas I can use VST's in any daw... Still that is a tempting price.

You may be in luck still ... the Sonar PC modules were included with the normal VSTs when I bought them from AD a few months ago, after CW stopped selling them.  Demos from Softube also included the PC GUIs.

Eddie

The Softube Mix Bundle does include the Pro Channel Modules as well as the VST's.
It's part of the package.

The actual Softube Installer actually gives you ALL the Softube Plugins, it just doesn't activate them.
You have to have a license to activate the plugins.  So, if you have a Softube plugin, ALL the Softube
DLL's are on your system.

You only get to use the ones for which you have a license.

Cheers!

How and when do you use the PC4K Channel Comp ?
And do you use it with the Fast Attack switch on, or not ?

Hmm, just noticed I don't have the PC4K channel module. What's the main differences between that and the included PC76 U-Style/Classic FET module? Should I be looking to purchase the PC4k too?

Thanks
Dean

Dean, ... one is for the individual track and one is for the BUSS. PC76 is based on the 1176 FET compressor. The Buss compressor is based on Solid State Logic 4000 BUSS compressor. Now the fine details I can't expand on too much but I understand that the 1176 was a rack unit. it has NO sidechaining capabilities. The PC4k buss has sidechaining, a high pass filter, and a WET/DRY mix so that you can do parallel compression without creating a new buss. It came from the BUSS section of the SSL4000 board. ... I've come to the conclusion that compression is compression... how gentle or how harsh depends on how you adjust it. The PC4K CHANNEL does not come with the Producer .... it is an add-on. I've got to the point where I use 1176, and PC2A the most... I use PC4k buss on summed mixes alot where I have, say 2 or more guitars routed to one buss and the BUSS compressor kind of glues it together before adding it to the rest of the mix.

OK, so until I get the PC4K CHANNEL module, I keep using the PC76 on individual channels and the PC4K BUSS on all my busess.

Sounds logical

Thanks
