Sonar X2 newbie here so apologies in advance. I am trying to use the step sequencer with Session Drummer. I have followed the youtube videos and set up Session Drummer and get all the drum sounds and assign them to different tracks. However when I click on the Step Sequencer button it brings up the sequencer but instead of the individual drums in the rows it has different notes e.g Eb, F etc. How do I assign the sequencer to the drum tracks so I can program the individual drum parts?

If you click on the step sequencer icon from within SD3 it will populate with the names of drums.

If what you are trying to do is to use a drum map, I used to do that, but the Step Sequencer has issues with going back and trying to edit using Step Sequencer when the original track was made using Step Sequencer with a drum map.  (I used Battery 3 but that shouldn't matter)

I had to bounce the track to midi to get past that.  Twas a nightmare for me until support finally told me I shouldn't use drum maps with Step Sequencer.

If on the other hand dubdisciple is referring to something within SD3 then please disregard my comments, except this one. :)

Have managed to get it to populate with drums now but not the kit I have loaded in SD3!!!!! Cubase is so much easier than Sonar....

Honestly, I have not quite put my finger ion why that happens either.  I always hope one of the cakewalk guys can answer these things .  Funny you should mention Cubase.  I used Cubase years ago and decided to try the cubasde AI that came with my interface.  It's a total pain in the butt to me but it's probably a metter if getting used to the differences.  I'm thinking of usinng the elemnts version of it just so i can have a cheap VST3 platform and i hink Groove agent is easier to chop up a sample and have it map across drum pads.
