Any recommendations for a cool honky tonk / ragtime piano for use in Sonar? Seems like there's a ton of concert grands, but I can't find one that's been soaked in beer.

SampleTekk's Rain piano should fit the bill, BUT it needs the full version of Kontakt.

They don't mention beer, just that it sounds like its been left out in the rain.

Spitfire Lab's "Bedlam Piano" is a slightly out of tune upright piano that may fit the bill.

It only costs £2($3 / €3 approx) donation to charity.

Just FYI, their Labs Range has some real gems. I definitely recommend grabbing a few that sound interesting to you. You may be surprised by how useful some of them are.

I'd get the free Reaper Reaplugs and roll your own out of any piano. Works incredibly slick and can dial in the intensity/range of the effect.

Side chain the dry piano with ReaControlMidi upstream from the processed piano. Alternately, two clone channels of the same piano, one with ReaControlMidi upstream. Change values of the mod wheel to get the exact abount of detune.

This is one of the most useful and unique utility vst's out there. Can be used to honkeytonk or fatten up anything, or just get a pitch shift with no sampling artifacts or latency.

Yeah, there are some really nice ones in there, all for £2 each.
But BigCat's stuff is even £2 less.

You guys are awesome! Thank you so much!

I forgot to mention I was also hoping to get cigarette burns and a slight nicotine smell along with the beer soaking, but I suppose one can't have everything. I found an actual piano that matched this description available for free a couple of weeks ago. Lack of space and a concern about vermin stopped me. These sound like much more sanitary alternatives!

I'd at least start here.  Same maker that did the True Pianos.  But this one is scaled down and free:

Tried to post links but it went nuts, google "honky tonk vst" and you will find two that might work from vs4free.
