interesting both of you have issues with recording.. I'd have tried WDM or MME really.. errm also check your windows "default" hardware device isn't messing with the recording rather perhaps ?
or when switching between apps again.. if the bit depth is changed that might be faffing it up
in your windows recording properties you'll find an "advanced" section.. and under there you should able to get 48k
also.. if it's set at 44.1 then yer i might be tripping it up. there is also other "record what you hear" options in that device manager bit .. again that depends on the soundcard itself.. I guess someone who writes drivers for soundcards would give you a far better view (not that I'm unsubtly hint or nowt :) )
p.s. karl.. if that works.. I want ya next sonar vid free..haha
Hi Fog........ I'm pretty sure the answer to getting Camstudio recording audio from the DAW is something to do with the Windows mixer, I can't for the life of me remember but I def got it working.
With my current set up Camtasia just refuses to open my main device's driver if Sonar has it locked at 48 despite Camtasia having 48 selected in the audio options. Interestingly your post has just made me think that I may just have had a "Doh...

" moment. I'll need to check when I get back to base, but I've a feeling that my other audio device I use for Camtasia output is set at 44.1. Obviously Camtasia can't work with two different rates at the same time so may well be overriding the settings to match the output.
It won't affect my monitoring as I'm doing that via audio connections through my mixer so it'll only affect the digital one.
I'll try changing the output device and see what happens but I have a feeling that may well be it.
